Skye

This tune was written while my wife (Sylvia) and I were WWOOFing up in the north end of the island of Skye. We had a wonderful week helping grow and preserve trees up on the Halin penninsula. Here is a picture of Sylvia in her element at a very old sacred site called Anniad, where the tumbling waters meet at the foot of a cliff.

The music started out as a jig, but as so often happens it became a waltz. I have tried to write the notes as we play them, a long opening note for the intitial waltz step with short clipped notes for the second and third steps; these are delayed and come towards the end of each bar. Sylvia prefers this beat and will stop playing if I use a regular 3/4.
